MathType by Design Science is a powerful equation editor that allows you to create your own math equations and insert them directly into a Microsoft Word document. Once they are in the Word document, you can translate the equations to your desired math code using TSS 4.0. Operating System: Windows 2000, XP, Vista
Office Versions: Does not require Microsoft Office or Microsoft Word. However, it adds a MathType ribbon to Word and PowerPoint 2007, and a MathType toolbar and menu to Word 2003, 2002 (XP) and 2000.
Memory Requirements: Not RAM-intensive
Storage Requirements: 10MB
Minimum Processor: Pentium processor or equivalent
How to use MathType with TSS 4.0
* First, install MathType by Design Science. Ensure that all Microsoft applications are closed during this process.
When installation is complete, open a saved or blank Word document.
Step 1: To insert an equation, select MathType from the main menu within Word and choose either "Insert Inline Equation" or "Insert Display Equation".
Step 2: Enter your desired equation.
Step 3: Once you have entered the equation you would like to use, go to "File" in the MathType menu bar and select "Update your document name". You may now close the Equation Editor.
Step 4: Before translating the equation, you must check your Formatter Settings within TSS. To do this go to Tiger in the main menu and select "Formatter Settings". Next, choose "Language Settings" and change the "Math Braille Type" to your desired math code. You are now ready to translate your document as usual with TSS.
Step 5: Once finished, preview your document and print using your ViewPlus embosser.
